Sean McGoey

Sean McGoey is the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists' editorial fellow as part of the Scripps Howard Foundation's Roy W. Howard Fellowship program. His work has been published by Capital News Service, C-Ville Magazine, The Diamondback, USA Today High School Sports and elsewhere. He is also one of the founders and hosts of the It's Pretty OK podcast. Before joining ICIJ, Sean received a master's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

Prior to returning to school, Sean worked for a marketing agency in Charlottesville, Va., analyzing performance data for digital advertising campaigns. He also ran a website devoted to high school sports for WWL-TV in New Orleans and interned in product design and development for Gannett in McLean, Va.

Sean is a native of New Orleans and a 2014 graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in economics. He currently resides in Richmond, Va.
